There are many ways in which Mass Marketing Resources can provide marketing assistance for your business. As an independent contractor, there is never any employee-related expense as you are out-sourcing your tasks. The first step in the process is to get together to discuss your needs.
During a one-hour complimentary consultation I am able to get a sense of what systems are already in place to help both of us and am able to listen carefully to your concerns. Once I learn more about the specific tasks and the time frame in which the work needs to be accomplished I am able to estimate the cost. Clients pay for my services in a variety of ways including:
- By the hour: This works best for small, well defined tasks. Examples: sending out a postcard mailing to 1000 clients; setting up an e-newsletter and importing contacts; social media coaching, creating a business Facebook page or Twitter account with a custom background and linking it to other social media or routine social media maintenance. Clients often set a cap on how many hours a month they wish to budget. If work approaches the cap you have the option of holding off until the next month or continuing the tasks.
- By the project: Occasionally it makes sense to bill per project. Examples of when this works well include creating a basic website from a template; submitting businesses to a specific number of directories; developing a social media strategy and creating profiles for Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and YouTube. The job is broken down per task and estimated. This arrangement requires a contract and an up-front deposit of 50%.
- By retainer: Sometimes clients wish to set aside a number of my hours per month on a longer term basis where I dedicate a set number of hours to work on various ongoing tasks, research and projects. Retainer work always moves to the head of the line before project or hourly work and allows the client greater access to my time outside the normal 9 – 5 workday. Hourly rates apply, and a discount is given depending on the block of time used. For 1 – 5 hrs./week the standard hourly rate applies. For 6 – 10 hours per week you receive a 20% discount; 25% on services extending beyond 10 hours per week. This arrangement requires a contract and payment is made upon invoice. The contract is for a minimum of three months and may be discontinued or modified given 30 days notice by either party.
- Collaborative fee arrangement: Under certain circumstances our fee may be determined by a mutually agreed upon rate.
